Toxteth is as finished as it ever will be. We have tenants enjoying the fruits of our labours and we don't intend (at this point) to return and live there ourselves. Please excuse the boys iphonetography. He's been the one flying up and back each quarter or so to get things finished up while I hold the fort here at home with the little ones (we are more hindrance than help).

I'm in the process of setting up a new blogging project, so please feel free to head on over and follow along if you're interested.

We recscued as many bricks as we could from under the house before the concretors came to do the slab and used them to pave the back courtyard area.

We had a feeling that tenants would prefer to have the laundry within easy access of the rest of the house and without having to go downstairs (especially if its raining). So we've put a kind of simple 'temporary' laundry upstairs on the back verandah. These all in one laundry sinks are great, but we had a bit of fun trying to track one down.

We ummed and ahhed about the pros and cons of redoing the kitchen, but decided that with a coat of paint the existing retro style cupboards that we had been using would look fine. If we do ever go back, I'm keen to knock out this wall and extend the kitchen to the edge of the verandah.

Brand new oven (being christened by the boy with leftover pizza!).

The bathroom is probably my favourite room in the whole house. The basins are the ones I hand made at pottery class and the wall paper is Porters Paints dandelion print (I can't remember the colourway anymore). We installed glass over the splashback area to protect the paper, and I'm really impressed with how its turned out.

The shower turned out really well too. We tiled it ourselves with the assitance of our nephew who's a pool contractor. I sewed a couple of ikea shower curtains together so we could have dramatic floor to ceiling curtains and we had the glazier put in glass fins to protect the floor and a tempered frameless piece over the window as a safety precaution to stop someone going through the heritage patterned (non-safety) privacy glass.

All the bedrooms are much the same as the master bedroom. This is the door that we knocked out to allow access to the bathroom. I'm so proud of the boy for managing to find all the bits and pieces we needed to almost exactly replicate the construction of the original doors in the house. We put in basic ikea cupboards which do an excellent job of highlighting the wonkyness of all the walls!

So that's it! Thankyou to everyone who's followed along with me, thankyou for all your lovely comments over the years. We already miss the old girl, but it's been quite a journey and I'm glad I have this record.
